Gin is experiencing a resurgence in its relationship with London. The new and traditional distilleries are producing gins that are gathering recognition not only from the experts, but also from the final consumers.
Explore the art and science of gin making at the City of London Distillery. This busy working distillery boasts three striking copper stills set behind floor to ceiling bomb-proof glass. At the Cold Bar, the cocktail bar which overlooks the stills and has a retro-style speakeasy feel, you can sample some of the wonderful gin made here.
After a warm welcome and meeting your tutor, you’ll start by exploring a whole range of botanicals and, with as much guidance as you need, you’ll design the recipe and prepare the ingredients for your own gin. Then it’s into the Gin Lab to fire up your mini-still. You’ll nurture your gin throughout the distillation process, taking tastings and deciding when to make the cut. Choosing from our wide selection of label templates, or by designing your own, you’ll create a label for your bottle of gin (70 cl). The final step is to apply the red wax to seal it.
